🎣 Fishing Basics – 1-Day Intensive Workshop

Course Overview

This one-day intensive workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of recreational fishing. Through a blend of classroom learning and hands-on practice, participants will gain essential knowledge about fishing equipment, techniques, fish identification, regulations, and ethical practices. Ideal for beginners and casual anglers who want to confidently enjoy fishing while respecting nature and conservation principles.

9:00 AM – 9:30 AM - Welcome & Orientation

Introductions, course objectives, overview of the day, and safety briefing.

9:30 AM – 10:30 AM - Session 1: Introduction to Fishing

Benefits of fishing, types of fishing, ethical practices, and basic fishing gear.

10:30 AM – 11:15 AM - Session 2: Fish Species & Habitat

Identify common local fish species, understand habitats, and explore how weather and seasons affect fishing.

11:15 AM – 12:15 PM - Session 3: Casting & Retrieval Techniques

Casting demonstrations and practice, bait and lure selection, and retrieval methods.

12:15 PM – 1:00 PM - Lunch Break

Relax and enjoy the outdoors.

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM - Session 4: Knot Tying & Rigging

Practice essential fishing knots and rigging setups; adjust tackle for conditions.

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM - Session 5: Fishing Regulations & Safety

Overview of local laws, safety on the water, and environmental stewardship.

3:00 PM – 4:45 PM - Session 6: Guided Fishing Practice

Hands-on fishing session applying learned techniques, safe catch handling, and release methods.
