A Community Rooted in Faith and Work

Homesteading begins with one pair of hands—but it never stays there. Before long, someone stops by to borrow a tool, trade eggs, or share advice on pruning. And just like that, a community begins to form. There’s a deep fellowship in honest work. It’s the same kind of fellowship described in Acts 2:44–46, where believers broke bread together “with glad and sincere hearts.” They shared because they worked; they worked because they cared.

At Vine and Fig Tree, we hope to see that same spirit take root again. Workshops become gatherings, gatherings become friendships, and before you know it, folks are helping each other build greenhouses, swap seeds, and care for animals while a neighbor’s away. We’re not meant to live in isolation. The rhythm of creation is communal—trees grow in groves, bees in hives, people in fellowship. Each of us strengthens the others simply by showing up with willing hands and open hearts.

“We were never meant to be self-sufficient alone.
